The weekly Thursday Night Social Bike Ride, my 1st one, is about the most encouraging, pleasant community bike event I've ever come across in 16 biking years. The mission is to kindly & respectfully ride (think Gandhi or MLK), not causing each other or others we encounter on the roads undue stress. At the same time, a forceful, massive celebratory statement is made on behalf of the endless values of cycling. A great night sight, must've been ~400 bike lights flooding the streets we rode.
